With everything costing so much, including the costs to feed our children at school during the week, does it not make sense that there could be both a SAVINGS and HEALTHIER DIET that could be achieved if our school systems bought more foods locally from local farmers… and not from other resources that would shelve products steeped in preservatives. Sure, there would be a lot more labor costs to process foods at the school level; but some of that could be taught in school, could it not? And surely, dealing with the producers directly should lead to lower purchasing costs. Would you not think?
