Merry Christmas to From a Tired Old Elf…

Hey everyone; please take a few moments to let me say Merry Christmas to you and to share with you some important Medicare and Kynect news.

This will be going out to all clients via text and email messaging.

Merry Christmas to all!

As a sidebar, my sister is asking that anyone that is able and willing to please make a small contribution to the Woodford County Humane Society. They need help from us to help the little ones that ONLY have us.

Any amount will help.

Why Clients Lose Me…

THIS TOPIC ONLY INVOLVES MEDICARE ADVANTAGE CLIENTS. MEDICARE SUPPLEMENT CLIENTS ARE NOT AFFECTED.
Every year I lose clients to the grim reaper which sadly cannot be helped… and to slick talking sales people and television commercials which can SURELY be helped. Nearly every time, after someone else has with or without their permission, changed their Medicare plans, they call me afterwards and ask me to fix what they did to their case. They messed it up of course.
And… i have to say “Sorry. Can’t help”.
Watch this short video and let me explain what you have done and why you may be stuck with your outcome, and why that is bad.

Please, if you trust and value my counsel, NEVER call an 800# on TV or take a call from a “sales agent” or anyone that wants to speak to you about Medicare. Refer ALL inquiries to Michael Todd Oldfield, YOUR Medicare NINJA!
I cannot fix you if you do this. Good luck. Stay frosty out there.
Remember, I represent ALL your options and it was the Medicare website that guided us to the choice we made together.
With the warmest of regards.

Why Do We Do The Annual Meetings?

This season so far I have spoken to more than 100 clients, with another 200 scheduled and about 163 I am just starting to schedule. While speaking with those that I have spoken so far we have been seeing vast differences in costs, networks, etc. By meeting for 30 minutes several (more than 5) have found savings of more than $2-3,000.

Letting me look at your case for a few minutes is important to you… not me.

I just do it to help you.

Please schedule you appointment by clicking the link below.

Lost Your Letters?

Hi there.

Do no worry. Over the years we have seen many people disregard, throw away, or lose their annual letter and supporting documentation. It happens. We are all so bombarded that it is hard sometimes to tell what is important and what is trash.

So let me help you.

Below is a link to the two documents we need you to send in to book your appointment.

  • The first is a Scope of Appointment. This is a CMS required document. In this document there are 5 boxes you may initial to list the topics we might discuss. I tell clients to just initial them all so we can talk about ALL your options need be. So, in the Scope of Appointment, you simply initial those places and then sign and date below.
  • The second document is a consent form. In this document you are giving me consent to contact you via phone, text, email, etc. This is what I need to be able to contact you. This form lasts for 1 year.

Simply click the link, download the forms, print them, sign them, and then mail them back to me to;

Pre-Appointment Paperwork

Prior to speaking with or meeting with any Medicare beneficiary, I must collect the following two documents once a year and save the signed documents for 10 years.

Yep. I am not kidding. If I do not, I put my license in jeopardy. No one may speak to you legally without doing so. Think about that the next time you are getting one of those calls. LOL

Anyways, being that I am a compliant guy and always want to do what is required of me to serve you the best, here we are.

Please click the following two links, open the documents, print them, sign and date, and return them to me;

Once complete, mail them to me at;

MAPD, PDP and the Inflation Reduction Act

Please watch this short video that explains what we know and what I think might happen during this coming Medicare Annual Election Period and how it will affect you.

Some of it is positive. Some of it is a big question mark. EVERY beneficiary needs this information which is why I am sharing the information like this.

Below is an excellent chart that shows the changes in the PDP component from 2024 to 2025.

We are going to have to be very careful this year. My biggest fear is that the insurers will drop some of the most expensive drugs and this will leave you guys paying the entire cost of the medication because the $2,000 cap only applies to drugs in the insurer’s formulary.

To make sure everyone is scheduled quickly, below are the links to my scheduling app. Regina will start calling people next week but if you have the technical skills, you should schedule yourself before then.

The Birthday Rule!

For sure we are going to have a lot to talk about this year. One of those topics is about “The Birthday Rule”. Directly speaking, this will pertain to those that have Medicare Supplements and individual drug plans. It is not really so much of a factor for those of you that have Medicare Advantage Plans (MAPDs).
Be sure to get your pre-appointment paperwork back ASAP. We are working hard on getting that in so that I can remain compliant and we have no problems.
Second, be sure to get your appointment scheduled.

Lastly, if you lost your pre-appointment paperwork, you can print a copy, sign it, and mail it back in your own envelope. We must have that ASAP.

Regina will be back beginning on Tuesday and we will be beginning calls to schedule appointments in a few days. We cannot schedule you without your paperwork being in.

See you soon.

2025 MEDICARE CHANGES

Great graphic. Saw it in a training. It sums up the good parts of the changes coming to PDP & MAPD plans for 2025. The big news is $2,000 maximum out of pocket for drug costs for all beneficiaries. That will save people money.

There are some downsides for sure. Be sure to see me for a review of your case during the upcoming Medicare Annual Election Period. And book your appointment early.
