Medicaid

The below is taken from the Cabinet of Health and Family Services (CHFS). It is important to remember that there is no such thing as an expert insurance agent on this topic being that Medicaid is not an insurance, but rather, a government program.

That being said, I work with many Medicaid beneficiaries every year. Sometimes, it is just to get them connected up with a Medicaid representative so that they can take an application to determine eligibility and in other times it is to intervene in some matter to help help a client get a problem resolved concerning their case.

Kentucky Medicaid is a state and federal program authorized by Title XIX of the Social Security Act to provide healthcare for eligible, low income populations.  These populations include children, low-income families, pregnant women, the aged and disabled. Eligibility for these groups is determined by a number of factors, including family size, income​ and the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Eligibility for people who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and the aged, blind or disabled, are based on additional requirements such as income and resource limits.

Medicaid offers a number of different Programs and Services depending on the type of Medicaid you are eligible for and your particular medical needs.
